The Little Library

Power of Books has proudly supported community libraries or known as 'taman baca' across Indonesia where children can gather, read, and learn. We use social media such as X and Instagram to find libraries that are needing extra resources or facing challenges.

In early 2024 we came to know about four little libraries in West Java, Yogyakarta, Central Java and Nusa Tenggara Timur that were the sole sources of reading material in their communities however struggled with limited budgets and lack of resources. We invited them to send in their proposal with a story of their community, the library programs, and goals.

We launched The Little Library program in April 2024 by selecting one library for every quarter and donating AUS$300 per month to replenish their bookshelves with engaging children's books as well as bookshelves and tables which are crucial for library users.
