Despite having increased access to education, the literacy rates of Indonesian children still lag behind their peers regionally and globally, with most struggling to read and understand simple texts.
Power of Book's mission is to create a joyful experience for Indonesian less privileged children who have little access to good books to foster their love of reading.
About Us
Power of Books is an independent, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to improving literacy outcomes for children in remote areas of Indonesia. Established in 2024, we have been working with independent community libraries across Indonesia to improve children’s literacy through recycled and new books.
Our Programs
We believe learning to read is not a natural process that happens all on its own. Parents have a very significant role in helping to develop their children's reading interest. Community libraries offer a valuable resource for parents and children, fostering a love of reading, providing learning opportunities, and creating a sense of community.
