Book Bank
Children’s literacy levels in the general population in Indonesia are alarmingly low. A book study of the Innovation for Indonesia’s School Children (INOVASI) found that 68% of available books were dry and boring textbooks, typically too difficult for beginning and emerging readers.
Book Bank is a program for our Little Libraries to have access to good quality books they need without the financial burden of purchasing them. Main aim of this program is to encourage the libraries to collaborate, by learning from each other and helping one another.
The libraries will share their book collections, highlight books they can exchange, and create engaging conversations in discovering new books to ensure children in their communities have access to good books.
