The start of Power of Books
We create our first social media account in X and start searching for community libraries in remote areas in Indonesia that need financial support.

In Indonesia, the ratio of books to the total population has not yet reached one book per person/year (0.098). This figure strongly supports that Indonesians are not lazy readers, but rather lack access to books.
Children in remote areas do not read books due to challenges in accessing quality reading materials and the books that are available of poor quality.
When the families are struggling to put food on the table, children's books are a luxury. As a result the children are left behind and facing difficulties competing with their peers who have access to good quality of books.
We believe community libraries play a crucial role in helping the less privilege parents foster a love of reading with their children. In 2024 we decided to work alongside these libraries.
